VOLTA BIBLE COLLEGE, HO, GHANA, WEST AFRICA is an WBI Extension School. In early 2009 Ben Fulks of East Texas contacted David Hamrick and requested assistance from WBI to train preachers. He indicated that the people were very receptive to the gospel but there were not enough preachers to meet the demand. Ben told David that 19 village chiefs north of Ho had requested a church of Christ be established in their village but there were no preachers to send. Shortly thereafter, David returned to Ghana with Brother Fulks to participate in a 2 week evangelistic campaign. He worked in the campaign for 4 days and then went to Ho to start laying ground work for establishing the school. During that first 4 days 185 people were baptized. Brother Fulks and several other workers continued to spread the gospel in the Volta Region of East Ghana. At the end of the 2 week campaign 488 souls had been converted to Christ and 9 new churches of Christ were established. David and Daren Schroeder returned to Ghana to advance progress towards the development of the Bible College. Because the current location and facility is inadequate and too small 5 acres were purchased for future construction. Until construction begins the land will be utilized to grow crops to help feed the preacher students. The first classes will begin January 2010 with 25 students. Sammy Dzamesi will serve as the Director of the school. Brother Dzamesi has been a gospel preacher for many years and is highly respected by the brethren in West Africa. The cost to support a student will be approximately $100.00 monthly.
